Going Postal.
Even though I'd stuffed envelopes with Christmas cards and stuck return address labels on the envelopes last week, it took me all day on Monday to get our envelopes addressed and ready to mail. I can only imagine how long it would take me if I didn't use labels!
It was my first day of "vacation", and I was not at my merriest when I discovered this task was taking all day. I had intended to go to the post office and mail the cards that afternoon, but since I hadn't done that by the time David left work that evening, I asked him to bring home stamps.
We stamped the cards and discovered we had twice as many stamps as we needed. When I looked at the receipt, I saw that it said ALL POSTAGE SALES FINAL, NO RETUNS OR EXCHANGES.
I was instantly mad. "We're going to the post office!" I decided, nevermind that it was dinnertime. David had purchased the stamps less than an hour before and I was determined not to have so many left over, especially when the postage rate is about to go up again!
Sure enough, after he talked to no less than 4 postal employees and pointed out that there was no warning before
he bought the stamps, they gave him a refund.
