OB update

Last week my doctor said the baby's head was "way down there" and he estimated her size at 6 1/2 pounds.

At my first weekly (and internal) exam today, my doctor said that I'm 3 cm dialated and 70% effaced. I didn't really remember what that meant, really, but he said it's not that great an indicator of when the baby will come, though he guessed a week & a half. He said I should have an easy labor though--good news since I've had so many contractions over the last 2 weeks. I was hoping they were doing some good, and it seems they were.

So maybe the baby will be here in March instead of April. And I'll get to deliver at the old hospital. The main reason I'd prefer to wait til April is we have so many family birthdays in March already--but that's okay.

P.S. I will be back-blogging (I think) at some point. I just skipped a whole lot of drafts to post this (on Thurs. 3/13) because I've had some serious contractions this afternoon and now wonder if I'll make it through the night. I'm supposed to go to a banquet at 7 tonight! And I haven't packed a bag or gotten the car seat or Boppy out of the attic!
