Abuela & Abuelo come to visit

First, a few pictures of Eva at 10 days old:

And finally, some pictures of Eva with David's parents!
We asked if they could come over on the only "free" weekday we had left while David was off of work.
We wanted them to get to hold her for more than a few seconds this time.

Paloma entertained us with her violin and an alphabet puzzle, impressing Abuela with her vocabulary.
While they were here, we asked them to stay with Paloma for a bit so we could take Eva to the Breastfeeding Support Center to have her weighed. I was concerned about how much she was sleeping and how infrequently she was nursing. She didn't spit up at all, though, and often seemed to think she was drowning when my milk came down. She makes a horrible sound like she's gasping for breath at almost every feeding, so I have to get her vertical and calm her down before she can nurse again.
Eva did NOT appreciate being undressed or cold or maybe she just didn't like that I knocked her umbilical cord off! :( Sorry, baby!

The good news was she had already surpassed her birth weight, which the nurse there said they normally don't do until 2 weeks old.
She's looking at Daddy suspiciously, isn't she?
When I was about to get in the tub, Gabriel said, "Mom, Eva's hungry. She's making this face." (And he stuck out his tongue and did his hands like the picture above.) I asked David to take a picture... thought it was cute that they're already learning the cues Eva uses to communicate her needs!

I can't share pics of E's first bath (our celebration of losing her umbilical cord) because she took it with me; David was on hand in his Dad towel apron, so Carmen took the pictures (not G rated for this site).
