Holland Waffles
Amanda,
This post is for you. Because you told us about Honeycrisp apples, which we now love. And because you asked why no one had told you about Nutella... which I still haven't tried, although I do believe you!
I discovered Holland Waffles at a Sam's Club when David & I were first married or at least sometime before Carmen was born (that's 8 - 10 years ago). One of those demo people was serving little squares of these waffles topped with a slice of strawberry and fresh whipped cream, and I bought some immediately.
I am warning you, if you try them, you will never, ever settle for Eggo waffles again.
For years after the first purchase, we went all over the place to find these waffles... different Sam's, etc. One time, when they became unavailable locally, I ordered them on the internet from their manufacturer out of state. Then for a few years we could get them at Kroger. And most recently, they've been available at WalMart.
And the package says they're microwavable, but I recommend the other method, in the toaster on the lowest setting for 30 seconds, then let cool for 10 seconds to let them get crispy.
You won't need any syrup, and aside from the crumbs, they're pretty handy to take on the run. (At any given time there are waffle crumbs in my car from mornings when I'm in a hurry.)
